Meet Dr. Erica Smothers
Dr. Erica Smothers is the owner and chiropractor at Awaken Family Chiropractic. She was born in raised in Cedar Rapids! Dr. Erica knew from an early age that she wanted to be a chiropractor. While growing up, her family saw a chiropractor regularly and embraced a more natural and holistic lifestyle.
Dr. Erica received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Coe College. She was part of the Kohawk women’s softball team that finished runners up at the DIII College World Series! She went on to attend Palmer College of Chiropractic where she received her Doctor of Chiropractic degree. While at Palmer, she became
increasingly interested in chiropractic care for infants, children and expecting women. She knew that it was her calling to serve children and families in her community.
Her advanced knowledge and training in pediatric chiropractic allows her to provide exceptional care to children and families. She has made it her mission to improve the health and the lives of as many people as she can.
Outside the Office
Dr. Erica enjoys spending time with friends and family. She has three siblings who all live close, and five nieces and nephews. She often spends weekends at their countless sports gams and activities. Dr. Erica enjoys being outdoors and staying active, and she participates in adult sports leagues—volleyball, slow pitch softball, and dodgeball, to name a few! She also has a passion for serving individuals with disabilities and is actively involved with The Arc of East Central Iowa and Special Olympics of Iowa.
